Hey everybody!
To take time this Christmas and New Year's to get to know all of you guys more was such a blessing for me. Talking to you guys really excited me to come back here, and it's nice to be back! You guys have all of my prayers as you enter this new year which is sure to be very eventful worldwide.
One of the very first people I talked to here was Pastor Manuel, the pastor of the church in La Angostura. When I had left, he and his family had a nice little house in San Salvador for them and their three kids. Come to find out, he was at such a loss for any work that he had to move (tell me God wasn't behind this) to La Angostura. He and his family live in a very small shack on the property where the old church was. They've had so many financial difficulties that you would think that it was something very sad.
Talking to him however, it sounded something completely different. He has watched his kids go from a nice little city life to a country life where they have over 20 new friends! They have also seen what it is like to really live with the people and share their heart. Their church has grown by ten adults and twenty children! They have had five baptisms since I'd left and many more who want to be baptized. He told me that he foresees it as being a church for the children that brings them into their adult years.
There was one time in our conversation, where Pastor Manuel almost broke into tears. He had just finished talking about how he had not been able to give any gifts to his kids on Christmas, but instead, on the 25th of December, his kids began taking all of the things which they couldn't take to La Angostura and getting rid of them. The crazy thing was, they loved it; the kids are so excited about what God is doing. His oldest daughter began getting ready to teach the children of La Angostura Sunday school without any prompting whatsoever!
This family is truly on a mission, and we are completely at their service as well as all of our brothers and sisters here and from Potter's Field Ranch. Please keep Pastor Manuel and his family in prayer, and make sure you add thanksgiving to your prayer for how the Lord has taken care of them!
God bless you all! Happy New Year!
